We are a team of teams, process and content experts, dedicated to building A world where tomorrow is healthier than today!Title: Database Administrator $20.26 - $32.95 / Posted thru: 10-25-20Employee Name: TBDSupervisor: Stuart EddyPurpose: The person in this position serves as a Departmental Analyst in the Environmental Data Analytics Unit of the Toxicology Assessment Section, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable databases used to organize and validate large datasets and maintain records for a variety of public health needs. They must be adept at database design, proficient working with Microsoft Access, and able to both work with raw data and produce input forms and summary reports for use by field staff, analysts, and managers.This person will need to work with a variety of staff with different experience and skill levels to ensure the data management needs of the various environmental science and health assessment teams are met. They will also collaborate with other data management staff and end users to provide technical support and identify new information organization solutions. Communication and organizational skills are essential for this position, along with willingness to address a variety of data management challenges.Duties and Responsibilities:Duty #1: Database Creation and Implementation (60% of time)and#8226;Gather user requirements and identify necessary features needed for data input and report generationand#8226;Design stable, reliable and effective databases to track, compile, analyze and maintain large datasetsand#8226;Document database structuresDuty #2: Database Management (20% of time)and#8226;Optimize and maintain legacy systemsand#8226;Modify databases according to requests and perform testsand#8226;Solve database usage issues and malfunctionsand#8226;Liaise with end users to improve applications and establish best practicesDuty #3: Database Support (15% of time)and#8226;Develop technical and training manualsand#8226;Provide data management support to end usersDuty #4: Administration (5% of time)and#8226;Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocolsand#8226;Assist with data assembly, quality control and reporting for special projectsand#8226;All other duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Education: A master's degree in computer science, information technology or database administration is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.Experience: Three to five years of experience designing and creating databases, including in MS Access.
