Stryker Manager, Compliance Governance and Strategy in Kalamazoo, Michigan

The Manager, Compliance Governance and Strategy is responsible for the development and implementation of the global Compliance strategy and related communications, goals and objectives to enable business results and for the ongoing reporting on the status of the Compliance program to the Global Compliance Committee, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors. This position is responsible for developing messaging, talking points, and presentations to communicate and ensure alignment to the strategy, goals, and objectives and building metrics to manage the status of the Compliance program for the department, the Global Compliance Committee, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement the Compliance strategy and goals necessary to enable to key business results and effectively manage risk for Stryker.

  • Develop messaging, talking points, and presentation content to socialize and ensure alignment to Compliance strategy, goals, and objectives.

  • Craft executive level presentations and communications for internal and external consumption, including key customer events and industry engagements.

  • Provide strategic input on modifications to the compliance program to reflect changes, clarifications, or updates in applicable law, regulations, policy, and business strategy.

  • Maintain broad-based knowledge of the organization and its operations; use knowledge of business and compliance metrics to inform department goals and objectives.

  • Develop and maintain meaningful metrics, communications, and materials regarding the status of the Compliance program for the department, Global Compliance Committee, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Raise awareness of the compliance program and promote accountability for ethics and integrity.

  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset and proposes enhancements to the program informed by industry trends and best practices.

  • Participate in industry associations and engagements to raise the profile of the Compliance program and the company.

  • Participate in other Compliance department activities as needed.


  • B.A. or B.S. from accredited university required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of work experience required; previous compliance leadership required.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective Compliance programs and experience with AdvaMed code and other relevant standards.

  • Inspires, educates, and empowers others.

  • Demonstrates expertise in applying external requirements to key activities and processes.

  • Demonstrates experience developing and leading large-scale, global initiatives.

  • Possesses excellent leadership and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrates high level of professionalism and executive presence.

  • Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Must be able to:

  • Effectively navigate Workday and Microsoft Office Suite.
