Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy and headquartered in Jackson, Michigan, provides natural gas and electricity to nearly 6.8 million of the Michigan's 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.Department SummaryThe Scheduler (Maintenance Construction) position supports Energy Operations and requires monitoring, planning and scheduling of gas and electric workloads, working with union employees, Field Leaders, Team Leaders, Statewide Planning. The position involves coordination of materials with Supply Chain, coordination of equipment and vehicles with Fleet Services, the assigning and tracking contractor workload, interpreting monthly work plans to create weekly schedules, conducting weekly meetings, and supporting the storm operations.Job Description/Responsibilities•The successful candidate will perform advanced work in an area that requires independent judgment and multi-tasking.•This position requires excellent communication skills, customer service, team work, the ability to read construction prints, understanding order types, capital and OM, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to create and present PowerPoint presentations.•Storm support is also a requirement of the role and may include dispatching / ARCOS support / wire guard support, or any other tasks needed to support storm operations.•Employee will be required to become efficient with OMS (Outage Management Systems) and any other additional storm support systems as needed.•Travel to support other headquarters, and may have to work extended hours, that are outside of normal working times and days.Requirements/Qualifications•A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.The following experience / skills may set you apart from others:•One or more years of technical or customer service experience.•College level courses or a degree in a scientific or technical field.•Operations scheduling experience.•SAP (back office) and CRM7 (front office).•Knowledgeable in OMAR, Excel, PowerPoint and storm support experience.Essential FunctionsPerforms technical support functions and more complex tasks including establishing workload and organizing and conducting assignments according to deadlines.
