AALG IT System Administrator in Ishpeming, Michigan

Seeking a talented IT professional who can provide day to day desktop support for our science and commercial teams while developing wider skills in network and system management. Given the board scope, we are open to training and developing someone who is keen to learn new skills with a strong track record of problem solving. A key part of the job will be identifying and implementing long term systematic solutions that help reduce support load and empower users.Your ImpactulliWork with CIO to evaluate and deploy longer term solutions like consolidating identity services and deployment that improve services for end users and simplify life of IT support./liliTake ownership of existing end user device and help desk duties/liliImplement remote desktop support to reduce need for face to face troubleshooting/liliMaintain hardware and software inventory/liliProvide technical assistance and support to end-users. Respond to tactical requests in a timely and efficient manner and identify long term solutions to reduce incidents/liliPerform on/off boarding of employees. Deploy equipment and accounts for new employees, implement automation where practical/liliResearch systemic issues as they arise and find solutions to implement/liliManage, update and maintain records in the asset management tool/liliMonitor hosts, conference room machines, network bastions/liliCreate, add and modify accounts and services across our various platforms/liliProvide support for the office network and for specialty items (e.g., A/V equipment, Zoom Rooms)/liliHelp provision cloud-based applications and provide basic support/liliAbility to troubleshoot network issues TCP/IP protocol/liliWork with internal customers to maintain outward facing websites./liliInstall software, maintain and introduce training as needed./liliWork alongside software development team in dev-ops style to automate management of their systems and company infrastructure where possible/li/ulYour ExperienceulliMinimum 2-4+ years of experience and/or Bachelorrsquo;s Degree/liliKnowledge and experience supporting, troubleshooting and configuring PC, desktops, and laptops/liliDemonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, iterative, deadline-driven environment./liliCurious and keen learner interested in developing new skills/liliStrong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator, able to speak to end users positively and explain technical detail in a manner they can understand/liliAbility to work with customers and executive team to identify, promote and implement systematic improvements to IT infrastructure./liliOrganized and able to mix tactical solutions with thinking about longer term investments that simplify support/li/ulDesirable:ulliFamiliarity with basic linux system administration/liliComfortable with basic AWS services and concepts (e.g. EC2, ECS, VPCs)/liliExperience with Office365 and or GSuite administration concepts/liliFamiliarity with identity management concepts and SSO to consolidate our user provisioning/liliBasic networking skills - familiarity with firewall, routing, NAT concepts/liliFamiliarity with domain registration, management/li/ul
