In this role, the College is seeking an experienced Web Content Manager with an understanding of current and emerging technologies, digital and social platforms, digital content planning and execution, analytics, and overall successful marketing and communications strategies tied to digital platforms and activities. The Web Content Manager is responsible for assisting in the delivery of digital content and promotional campaigns for College websites, landing pages, CTAs, email marketing, and cross-content coordination within the Marketing Department and with others across the College.

The Web Content Manager reports to the Director of Digital Marketing and assists in the proactive development and administration of content for Hillsdale College digital properties, including the College’s main website (hillsdale.edu) and other College websites and landing pages, CTAs, email marketing, and cross-content coordination within the Marketing Department and with others across the College. The Web Content Manager helps to radiate the mission of the College to audiences across the country through digital strategies and content that ultimately inspire positive action.
Essential Job Functions
Proactively support Hillsdale College’s digital presence in partnership with cross-functional teams operating from within and outside of the Marketing Department. Collaborate with writers, editors, designers, video producers and photographers to deliver digital content that inspires positive action through the College’s digital properties.
Assist in the day-to-day management of website projects and maintenance tickets including: tracking progress, ensuring accurate, timely delivery of content change requests, and keeping projects within scope.
Work on digital projects (websites, landing pages, etc.) through a disciplined development process including IA/UX considerations, creative concept and design, production/build, testing, and ongoing optimization and improvements after launch.
Work on a variety of email campaigns, create and upload static and active lists, create landing pages, forms, CTAs and related efforts to schedule sends using email marketing automation tools such as HubSpot.
Build SEO, search, and keyword standards throughout all College web properties.
Design, build and implement tagging and tracking codes to measure performance of key content and links.
Contribute to new feature development including discovery, requirements definition, and QA/user testing.
Create and develop customized mockups and page layouts using tools such as Adobe XD or similar tools.
Identify, select, and condense news and events for inclusion, prepare communications designed to effectively position the College, and ensure the delivery of key messages.
Use metrics to determine the most effective channels to deliver content to audiences, monitor the health of College digital content, measure user behavior and attitudes in response to published content, and make recommendations based on the results. Provide analysis of collected data and submit reports and recommendations as requested.

Education and Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in digital content management and development, preferably within a college/university or large, complex organization. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Major or concentration in marketing, communications, web or graphic design, UX/UI, or HCI preferred. Additional certification, training, or educational life experience is a plus.
Proficiency with web design, web maintenance, user experience/user interface, mockups and wireframes, information architecture, customer relationship management, content management systems, project management, customer service, end-to-end inbound marketing automation tools, such as HubSpot or similar marketing automation technology, and lifecycle stage tools.
Experience with web analytics, SEO and keyword tools.
Working knowledge of WordPress and other best-in-class CMS platforms.
Excellent skills in writing and editing marketing, advertising, and promotional copy.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and UI design software, such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Webflow, or Invision Studio.
