Application Support Specialist, 1.0 IT

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Info Tech

Location: Hancock, Michigan

Employment Status: Full-time

FTE: 1.0 (80 hours bi-weekly)

Physical Work Location: Houghton County

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Support Specialist performs application support tasks, in conjunction with the entire Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center Information Technology department, with focus on the electronic health record system (EHR). The Application Support Specialist develops and performs in depth training for staff and providers and acts as a subject matter expert for support regarding the EHR.

Education, Training, Licensing and Credentialing

Required:

  • Associate‚Äôs Degree in healthcare, business or information technology field or a combination of a high school diploma and work experience in a healthcare environment where comparable knowledge acquired.

Preferred:

  • Active LPN or RN license, or other certification/licensure in a healthcare-related field

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business or information technology field

  • Completion of ECW advanced training program(s)

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Experience working in healthcare environment

  • Experience utilizing an EHR

  • Experience utilizing MS Office products

  • Ability to handle confidential information as required under HIPAA

  • Possess basic knowledge of general clinic office workflow

  • Possess effective communication and customer service skills

Preferred:

  • Experience utilizing E-Clinical Works (ECW)

  • Experience working at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or clinic setting

  • Prior clinical work experience

  • Experience developing and leading individual and group training sessions

  • Experience in clinical data analysis, EHR application configuration, and problem identification
