Position summary
Priority Health is seeking a data engineer to design and manage data processing and engineering in cloud platforms to support a robust analytical pipeline. The job will promote collaboration between data scientists, data architects, business analysts and marketing product owners to support building of various use cases for Next Best Action efforts. The data engineer will play a role in data ingestion, data engineering and integrating advanced machine learning models into production with continuous integration. The role will prefer a general understanding of the healthcare system for data integration across multiple data sources.
Scope of responsibilities
o Work with the data scientists/engineers to build the production frameworks to orchestrate data pipelines, manage machine learning models and automate workflow management in Azure platform
o Conduct data processing and data engineering tasks for Next Best Action engine
o Develop feature engineering for machine learning models
o Implement business rules, assignment rules and experiment design for Next Best Action engine
o Manage Next Best Action engine execution workflow
o Provided support for data scientists in automating and productionizing modeling codes
o Act as technical engineering lead for the team and train the rest of team in PySpark, cloud platform and data science production tools
o Enforce and train the team on coding best practices
Required skills and competencies
o Ability to write production-level code in the following languages: Python, PySpark, Shell Scripting, SQL
o Knowledge and experience in machine learning domain: statistics, predictive modeling, experiment design
o Knowledge and experience in using data science development tools: Airflow, Docker, PyCharm, Git
o Knowledge and experience in cloud computing platforms
o Familiarity with data architecture and security
Qualifications-required
o 3+ years structuring databases and working with big data
o 2+ years writing code in relevant languages on production level
Qualifications-preferred
o Experience working in agile, sprint-based approach
o 1+ year working in healthcare or related field
o Exposure to DevOps
Basic Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in in computer science, application programming, software development, information systems, database administration, mathematics, engineering, or other related field with 3 + years of industry experience
Experience - 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Education - Master's Degree or equivalent in in computer science, application programming, software development, information systems, database administration, mathematics, engineering, or other related field
o Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field with 3+ years industry experience
