3rd Shift - Tuesday - Saturday (Midnight - 8:30 am)

GENERAL FUNCTION: Is the subject matter expert in resolving production problems on behalf of Network Operations Center. Accountable for ensuring circuit availability, testing of troubled circuits; restoring and driving the resolution of circuit outages, ensure that our vendors are taking appropriate steps for LEC and area outage resolution. Provide support and escalation for Data Center Operations, UNIX and Windows Server environments, Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with level three technical personnel. Analyze and work to resolve complex network operating issues, including failures and service level degradation. Takes corrective action to ensure connectivity and minimize downtime of network services and facilities. Act on behalf of Sr. Technical lead in their absence.

  • Provide problem resolution for technical hardware communications issues. Takes corrective action to ensure connectivity and minimize downtime.

  • Perform necessary recovery procedures of online applications and other system workloads in case of system degradation and/or unscheduled outages.

  • Assist with incident escalation, communication with functional lines of business and IT Senior Management as needed.

  • Provided first line troubleshooting support for corporate data center – Windows servers, SQL, VMware, UNIX, Share Point, and Exchange servers.

  • Identify and prioritize circuit repair issues in accordance with established procedures.

  • Play key role in training and development of junior operations staff.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting of the equipment utilized in the network.

  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze hardware, software, network or procedural problems and resolve them or discuss with appropriate support department for resolution.

  • Completes work assignments in conjunction with more senior staff members.

  • Works to increase job knowledge through daily work responsibilities.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.



  • Network:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field including four-year related experience; or equivalent experience of 3-5 years in network operations.

  • Experienced in TCP/IP, Cisco Routers, and Frame Relay.

  • ITIL and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
