Spectrum Health Manager, System Analytics – Data Insights in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Manages collection of clinical process measures and submission to regulatory agencies. Manages collection, production, analysis and presentation of accurate reports for clinical process, quality outcome and financial measures for internal and external reporting.

  • Manages the, collection, analysis and reporting of clinical, demographic and financial data for the department for internal and external reporting.

  • Manages submission of complete and accurate data to regulatory agencies (TJC and CMS); and for public and annual reporting to other various agencies. Oversees website monitoring of various websites for accuracy of presentation.

  • Manages financial reporting for the department including return on investment analysis for quality enhancements, pro forma development for new initiatives and program review for ongoing activities.

  • Coordinates the manipulation of a variety of administrative, clinical and financial databases to extract data for reporting purposes. Manages the effectiveness of data collection and reporting by monitoring, evaluating and improving data collection and reporting activities, including related software. Manages the implementation and maintenance of data for continuous quality improvement, benchmarking, and outcome reporting.

  • Responsible for the preparation and/or presentation of quality improvement reports to appropriate committees.

  • Manages the activities of professional and support staff. Provides direction and support to subordinate staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the departmental policies, organization philosophy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; initiates personnel actions.

Basic Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's Degree in health care management, business, finance, health services research, nursing or other related area of health care focus

Experience - 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in healthcare, business, or quality improvement 3 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in more in a management role Proven expertise with producing reports for multiple audiences including the board of directors, administration, physician and nursing leadership Data extraction from clinical information systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Education - Master's Degree in related field
