KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Data Architecture to join our KPMG Technology organization.


  • Define vision, strategy and principles for data management and serve as a liaison between data consumers, solution development, and integration teams

  • Act as a thought leader in the data space with very strong communication skills, and management skills

  • Manage teams of architects and engineers who provide technical design and architectural leadership to multiple teams, and projects to help ensure applications are integrated and adhere to stated architectural and design principles and standards

  • Partner and collaborate with other technology groups, acting as a thought leader and strategist for new technology, technology roadmaps, and next generation technology direction

  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information assets, become steward of enterprise metadata architecture & standards, data lifecycle management including data quality, data integration, and data security technologies; Provide data management industry insight and guidance; Research, analyze and assess advanced and emerging data management technology solutions

  • Identify opportunities for common data standards and solutions across the enterprise, which span transactional, operational and analytical platforms, collaborating within the architecture and development communities; Provide input in enterprise data strategy, identify technical solutions and capability gaps


  • Minimum of ten years of technology experience which includes experience leading design teams with a strong devotion to customer service

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; Master’s degree from an accredited college/university

  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior relationships across business/functional areas, to develop cooperative and constructive working relationships, and to resolve conflicts and negotiate with others

  • Experience designing and building scalable infrastructure and platforms to collect and process very large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), including streaming real-time data

  • Knowledge of big data architecture and cloud technologies such as MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases, AWS, Azure

  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements and ability to estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives
