Job Description

SummaryAs an experienced member of the enterprise architecture team and a technical thought leader within the organization, the senior domain architect provides technical leadership, direction and guidance to Information Services (IS) practitioners within their domain of expertise. They analyze and assess business strategies, technology trends and existing infrastructure, and ensure current and future state solutions apply best use of supported technologies within their domain. Senior domain architects establish new technical capabilities that enable the business to achieve optimal outcomes in the most efficient and effective manner possible. They define solution architecture for complex projects within their domain of expertise, focusing largely on aligning solution architecture with business strategies and enterprise architecture. They participate in envisioning, guiding and reviewing architectural change associated with their domain of expertise. Senior domain architects understand the business context, key processes, healthcare systems and emerging technologies within their domain that will transform our industry and the organization.Senior domain architects are subject matter experts in their domain, with developing knowledge in other domains. Recognized as "big-picture" thinkers by their peers, business and IS leadership, they possess a strong understanding of business direction and strategies. They utilize critical thinking, excellent communication and well-established influence skills to ensure that solution architectures are in alignment with business strategies and enterprise architecture, and can be achieved through the collaboration of various teams. They are also highly competent in systems engineering and design, exemplars of industry best practices, and recognized experts within one or more technical domains. The primary responsibilities of senior domain architects are development of domain reference architecture models, portfolios, risk assessments and roadmaps, and ensuring architecture risks are appropriately mitigated prior to production deployment.Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Required

  • Master's Degree or equivalent Preferred

  • 10 years of relevant experience Required

  • Prior architecture experience Preferred

  • Software, system or technology engineering experience at highest level of proficiency Preferred

  • Architecture patterns and standards development experience Preferred

  • Systems development lifecycle and technology implementation experience Preferred

  • Development of technical portfolios, roadmaps, frameworks and controls experience Preferred

  • Prior healthcare provider or payer experience Preferred

  • Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, Informatica, and other strategic data and analytics platforms preferred.
