The Associate Software QA Engineer is a unique opportunity to

help us build Software products for our customers that expect the highest quality. You will be filling a crucial role as part of a small cross-functional team focused on Software Development. As an associate-level QA Engineer, you will also be working closely with a Senior QA Engineer that can provide mentorship and direction. While all team members are responsible for delivering quality products to our customers, our QA Engineers really bring all those efforts together and execute the process.

By joining our team, you will take part in various projects, assessing software quality by designing and implementing software testing processes. You will take ownership of code quality through exploratory and automated tests. You will hunt bugs, identify issues, report them, and see that they’re dealt with.

Your responsibilities as an Associate Software QA Engineer at X-Rite Pantone, include:

  • Create comprehensive test plans and documentation, in order to validate that our products are performing as specified

  • Meticulously discover, track, classify and investigate issues/bugs that arise in our software products

  • Develop and cultivate a variety of test environments, tools, scripts, spreadsheets, checklists, utilities, and anything that helps validate our Software Applications

  • Help keep the team focused on the critical issues in order to help maintain our delivery commitments

  • Creating, following, and maintaining processes that ensure that our software releases and updates are consistently and reliably deployed out to our customers

We are looking for a professional who is:

  • Detail Oriented – able to methodically step through the features of an application and keep good notes and steps to communicate to others clearly.

  • Quick Learner – able to keep up with technology, industry trends, and become experts in new products.

  • Helpful – our testers are very knowledgeable about our markets and products and become highly sought after by many areas of the company.

Your Education and/or Background Experience will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering field (or similar background) with 0 to 3 years of experience testing Software Applications.

  • Ability to coordinate projects which involve a variety of people and multiple, complex tasks/details.

  • Some programming (C, C++, C#, etc.) / scripting (Python, Ruby, etc.) experience (not required but highly encouraged).

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
