KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, IT Risk Assessment to join KPMG Technology Organization.


  • Perform information security risk assessments of high profile, large impact technology enabled projects (e.g. firm acquisitions, strategic growth initiatives); activities include vendor reviews, security requirement definition, and facilitation of security testing and management of residual risk

  • Serve as escalation for risk assessment team as it relates to outstanding security risks

  • Interact with project teams, KPMG partners and other senior members of the firm to advise and assist with compensating control alternatives where security requirements cannot be met

  • Function as a subject matter expert in several IT security domains (e.g. access control, cryptography, monitoring, etc.)

  • Continuously improve the security aspects of operating processes

  • Contribute to the security strategy of the firm, including planning, execution and controlling responsibilities; lead internal and leverage external resources to operate and enhance the firms information security risk assessment program; performance manager for a team of employees, some of which are performance managers; create development plans and raise the skill levels of the team


  • Eight years of experience in IT security, performing IT security risk assessments

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; CISSP Certification is required; Other certifications of importance: CISM, CISA, CRISC, CIPP, CGEIT, CCSP

  • Experience in information security risk assessments of high profile, large impact technology enabled projects

  • Experience in a supervisory role

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work; must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team

  • Ability to foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization; ability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities
