McLaren Health Care Mgr Physician Compensation in Flint, Michigan
Under the direction of the CFO,
the Manager, Physician Compensation
is responsible for managing and advising
the CFO on pro-formas and internal and external business plans of McLaren
Medical Group. Manages and advises on
physician compensation and modeling including pro-formas are in compliance with
all state and federal regulatory requirements. Works directly with physicians to make sure
they understand the physician compensation models and programs. Responsible for
analytical support, and performance improvement methodologies and other special
project initiatives as deemed appropriate.
Working directly with the CFO, ensures MMG providesthe appropriate compensation including total cash compensation (i.e.,base, productivity, quality, extra shifts, extra call, sign-on bonus,relocation allowance, etc.) to its physicians.
Identifies fair market value compensation basedon specialty, local and national physician compensation studies and otherapplicable factors in accordance with MMG physician compensationphilosophy and guidelines.
Understands and applies Fair Market Valueguidelines to the physician compensation models and reviews them forinternal equitability and ensures the models perform properly andconsistently.
Collaborates with other Leaders to perform marketresearch and analysis, develops pro formas for new services, and assistswith implementation of the program development strategies and businessplanning determined in the strategic plans.
Maintains relationships with physicians employedwith MMG through regular visits to communicate and answer questionsregarding compensation, pro-formas, etc.
Collaborates and leads determination of need andcost benefit analyses for proposed new programs, equipment and serviceofferings.
Supports operational leaders in their efforts todevelop business strategies, implement marketing (with marketingdepartment) plans and meet operational goals.
Provides leadership in performance improvementapproaches to creating performance improvement plans, defining appropriateaims and measures in collaboration with service line leadership.
Continually analyzes the market on physiciancompensation practices as well as best practices across the country withregard to model design and application to ensure market competitiveness.
Responsible for budgetary concerns for capitalequipment, volume, supplies, clinical materials and personnel.
Utilizes lean sigma methodologies to facilitateimprovement initiatives.
Acts as an ambassador and change agent to build aculture of continuous improvement.
Analyzes and interprets data, operational andprocedural problems related to assigned projects.
Develops metrics that provide data for processimprovement measurement, identifying indicators for future opportunities.
Mentors project team members in improvementmethods, project management, change management, group dynamics.
Implements solutions and develops appropriatemonitor and control plans to ensure implementation and hardwiring change.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Health CareAdministration, Finance or related field.
Minimum of five years’ experience withinhealthcare with a strong emphasis in financial analysis and/or providerrelations.
Minimum of 1 year experience inphysician compensation or pro-forma development
Master’s degree preferred.
Previous experience developing pro formas
Previous management experience
Previous operational managementexperience in provider practices
