Robert Bosch LLC seeks a Sr. Calibration Engineer at its facility located at 38000 Hills Tech Drive, Farmington Hills, MI 48331. Responsible for "in time, in spec, in budget" for allocated calibration tasks inside subproject calibration creation of work products. Perform calibration of allocated calibration work packages in customer projects. Assessment of working products against project requirements determination of calibration data status. Maintain supply calibration data for members of projects responsible for calibration data management. Release of calibration data for assigned functions and parameters for customer and plant delivery. Responsible for discussion and exchange of calibration data together with customers in case of work split for assigned responsibilities. Perform documentation of working products according to requirements. Participate in project coordination meetings. Participate or support test drives. Assist in planning of required resources (dyno, vehicles, etc.) for assigned calibration tasks. Responsible for creation and maintenance of documentation and training documents for assigned calibration work packages. Conduct training of other calibration engineers. Perform active role in simultaneous engineering process to ensure calibration ability for systems, packages or function. Take part in technical discussions about assigned functions/packages with function development group and on demand with customers. Cooperate with calibration tool- and method development groups. Support creation of calibration work package definition and cost calculation. Support quotation process for calibration tasks. Travel Requirements: 15% Domestic travel required. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Automotive Engineering, plus 5 years of work experience in Powertrain controls within the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Engine and powertrain control strategies to enable robust engine starting from temperatures of -40C to +40C; (2) Implementing engine and powertrain control strategies to achieve ultra-low emission vehicle (ULEV) emissions standards; (3) Balancing the tradeoffs in powertrain control strategies to obtain optimum vehicle performance in all possible customer use cases; (4) Presenting technical details of calibration work for review to project stakeholders; and (5) Calibration data management to ensure quality standards and KPIs for the project are met.
