Position Description

The Program Manager is responsible for managing, without the need for significant direction, predominantly Category 0 and 1 projects within the business unit in accordance with ZF's new product introduction management process requirements. Additionally, in accordance with PMI standards, is responsible for managing all aspects of a project over the entire life of the project as shown by the following Project Phases: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing. The project manager will be involved with the project from sourcing through post launch, and will lead ongoing change management activities and customer support.

Position Requirements

  • Delivery of change and application projects using GDPIM gateway process where applicable, with reviews held on time and successfully passed.

  • Manage projects generating accurate timing plans, open issues lists, risk assessments, critical issue resolution and escalation, KPIs reporting and change management control.

  • Monitor and control financial performance of the projects to meet CQA and CRB baseline targets for DVP, CAPEX, ER&D and BOM.

  • Keep a regular check on progress so that problems are anticipated and corrective actions implemented and coordinating multi-disciplined team to deliver project objectives.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on all aspects of the projects presenting status updates to senior management and respond to customer and stakeholder requests for quotations

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least two years Project Management experience through the entire project life cycle as outlined in the PMI PMBOK (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, Closing).

  • Six to ten years of experience in the automotive or supplier industry.

  • A bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering or related technical field required.

  • Previous Project Management exposure or proven track record in management of multi-function teams with ability to demonstrate strong leadership capability.

  • Strong financial, commercial and technical understanding; strong presentation and reporting skills; computer literate (MS Office).

  • Be capable and used to handling multiple projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Passive Safety experience preferred.

  • Electronics automotive experience preferred.

  • Japanese proficiency preferred.cb
