The ADAS team provides not only a great opportunity to work with industry-leading core technology, but also the chance to work with a variety of OEMs as they adopt these new products and features.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will work closely with other members of the ADAS Engineering teams - especially Systems and Functional Safety Engineers - to ensure that current and upcoming products meet security domain best practices, such as being sufficiently protected from malicious or unintended use, as well as protecting the intellectual property of ZF and our customers.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will interface with multiple ZF stakeholders and customers, to ensure these objectives are met, establish an agreed set of expectations, and assist internal and external stakeholders in understanding and implementing defensive measures in the complex world of cybersecurity.
Define security threats and plans to mitigate these threats
Capture these threats in requirements and work with implementers to ensure correct coverage
Define validation and verification plans for these threats, and establish test procedures
Work with industry experts to understand and potentially guide the evolution of automotive cybersecurity
Contribute to DIA (Development Interface Agreements) with suppliers
Work with other ZF functional areas to help establish proper internal processes and metrics for security
Coordinate with suppliers to evaluate and mitigate threats
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer, or Software Engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record of defining security practices, and/or strong academic credentials to support this capability
Multidisciplinary experience in electronic system and/or embedded software design and development
Highly self-motivated and able to work with little direct oversight in a collaborative environment; former small team leadership experience preferred
Good program management skills (scheduling and estimating work, coordinating with others)
Excellent customer/supplier management skills
Ability to work well with others at various technical and managerial levels
Excellent communication skills, particularly in written English
Current security industry credentials such as CISSP, with examples of application, strongly preferred
