Job Description


ZF is a leading developer and innovator in the rapidly growing field of Advance Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) with a global workforce of approximately 138,300 at 230 locations in 40 countries. These camera- and radar-based technologies assist drivers by providing information and acting on environmental data at the front, side and rear of vehicles to help warn drivers of impending danger. They can also provide intuitive cues or actions such as braking and steering inputs to help “coach” the driver to stay in lane or offer convenience functions like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking (CMB), Following Distance Indication (FDI), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Centering Assist (LCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and Surround View - 360 degree Bird's Eye View with 3D image perspective and integrated safety. This role is for a feature owner for camera calibrations.

Description of role

Feature owner of camera calibration. Defines, plans, executes testing and reports on feature functionality and test outcomes to project team.


  • Define requirements for calibration features of the system based on internal and customer requirements.

  • Define calibration procedures, and test cases for requirements

  • Perform testing of calibration procedures and compares results against requirements.

  • Document testing outcomes, tracks issues, and provides test reports.

  • Ensure correct calibration of camera hardware in test/development vehicles or OEM production vehicles.

  • Define timing planning based on overall project timelines

  • Provide customer support for camera calibration in production facilities.

  • Verify protocols in static and dynamic calibration settings.

  • Ensure traceability between requirements and tests.

  • Identify and test interfaces to external components (sensors, bus, etc) as well as internal components (e.g. HW, SW, Mechanics, etc)

  • Ensure traceability between customer requirements and system requirements.

  • Develop GAP analyses of new business to CORE product Requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic Knowledge of Engineering Mathematics, Mechanics, Electronics, and Software.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Experience working in a team environment.

  • Experience in writing software or scripting languages (CAPL, Matlab, Python, etc)

  • Ability to identify risks and issues and to provide appropriate solutions

  • Must have valid drivers license

Desired Skills

  • Experience in driver assistance sensor technologies

  • Experience with developing, planning, conducting, evaluation and documentation of testing to requirements

  • Working knowledge of vehicle electronics (CAN, Ethernet, FlexRay, etc)

  • Knowledge of requirements capture tools, such as DOORs

  • Knowledge of automotive tools (CANalyzer, CANape,Vehicle Spy etc.)

  • Knowledge of Configuration management e.g. with PTC Integrity and Windchill

  • Knowledge of project planning tools (Microsoft Project, Excel,etc.)

  • Knowledge of ISO26262

Deliverables/Work products

  • System Test Reports (System, SW)

  • Interface requirements specification, Interface Control Document

  • Development of System interface diagrams, including harnesses and test equipment

  • RAM, ROM, Runtime Calculation (SW)

  • Traceability (Links) between Specification and Architecture (System/SW Requirements <->System,/SW Architecture)

Must be willing to travel at least 10%. Domestic and foreign travel possible.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelors/Master's/Diploma Degree in Engineering with background in general electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, system controls, mechatronics, physics, maths, computer sciences, computer engineering or similar disciplines.

Experience and Skill Requirements

-have worked in algorithm development in Automated Driving or Advanced Driver Assistant Systems for 1+ years

-or have worked in the field of (vehicle) dynamics for 2+ years
