h3Working/Functional Title/h3 Virtualization Engineer h3Position Summary/h3 Be a part of a specialized team of engineers and technicians that advances MSU''s core information technology infrastructure. A team which delivers solutions that scale for a city-sized organization with an expansive variety of needs. Solve real world problems to deliver solutions for a global research and teaching institution alongside experienced teams of specialized technologists. The virtual server system administrator is a self-motivation specialist who collaboratively supports the MSU virtual server infrastructure (VSI) and performs independent complex professional support. Duties include client support, virtual systems configuration, deployment, testing, performance optimization, monitoring, maintenance, and migration. This position requires strong organization, customer support, problem solving and technical skills. The virtual server system administrator is a self-motivation specialist who collaboratively supports the MSU virtual server infrastructure (VSI) . A successful candidate will deliver client first solutions to MSU''s community, performing independently complex professional support. Working directly with a team of systems engineers and technicians, to meet the increasing demand of today and tomorrow''s challenges. The virtual server team works alongside a variety of specialized teams, including campus units, research labs, virtual desktop storage, networking, data center and applications; primarily supporting faculty and staff.
