Position Summary

Research associate will serve as Program Coordinator on Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment research education project. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the daily logistics of pre- and post- course coordination including working with multi-disciplinary resource faculty; and education faculty to collect and analyze assessment and evaluation data. Research associate will interact with experts who will provide disciplinary knowledge content to create research education materials and outputs including interactive online training and in-person team science workshops. Specifically, the Program Coordinator will assist with QMRA curriculum development and materials including novel research cases studies used for project-based learning. This position will be responsible for managing the interface between the pedagogical and content experts and the learning technology research experts. Experience in risk assessment and modeling, working with multi-disciplinary teams and interest in interdisciplinary science and education is desirable. Outputs from this project are considered publications, presentations at regional, national and international meetings, and materials appropriate for upload to the online research and learning environment (qmrawiki.org) being further developed during this project. This 5-year project will offer fixed term support for this position renewed annually based on satisfactory performance. Review of applications starts on 03/15/2021.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Biosystems, Envir., or Public Heath Eng.

Minimum Requirements

Doctorate in Biosystems Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Public Health Engineering, Environmental Health Sciences, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.

Desired Qualifications

Ideal candidate has had experience in risk analysis; Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment; exposure science or modeling; and multi-disciplinary, team science and a certificate or degree in STEM Education. Interest in interdisciplinary education, global health microbiology, data systems and/or outreach is desirable as well.
