Position Summary

Coordinates the activities and oversees development of graphic art, design, and production for websites, publications, and multi-media projects associated with the strategic marketing directives of University Advancement. The successful candidate will be highly creative with excellent technical design skills, and proficient in the development of creative briefs and production management.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year degree program in Commercial Art, Graphic Design or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in commercial or graphic art, marketing, management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work in graphic design;

  • Three to five years of work creating and producing designs for websites and other digital environments;

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite ( InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)

  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing and branding principles;

  • Ability to balance creativity and detail-oriented work in a deadline-driven environment, to learn new skills quickly, and to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

  • A digital portfolio of design work for review.

  • Knowledge of Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

  • Knowledge of or experience working in foundational arts, illustration, photography, print design, and PowerPoint;

  • Experience creating responsive website designs

  • Experience working in higher education environments and with donor and alumni audiences.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Familiar with cloud based design tools and templates (Cavna, Ovrture)

  • Familiar with HTML

  • Familiar with digital marketing tools (eg. imodules, Saleforce Marketing Cloud, Social Toaster, and Sprinklr)

  • Familiar with CMS systems such as Sitecore and Ovrture

  • Familiar with CRM systems such as Salesforce and Ellucian Advance
