IBM is seeking individuals that have passion for technology and would like to further their knowledge in security, Computer Technology, Testing, Data Analysis and application development. Candidate will have the opportunity to gain working knowledge in business processes such as accounting, finance, manufacturing, supply chain and human resources.

Required Skills & Responsibilities

Looking for entry-level candidates with a general knowledge of system administration to help with software installation, infrastructure configuration, security, and support of Linux environments(Dev, Test, Prod). Ideal candidates are self motivated, have a passion for innovation, and have a passion for technology. If interested in joining an innovative team with diverse technical skills, this might be the company for you.

Primary responsibilities include the following tasks:

  • OS Patching

  • Shell Scripting

  • Python or Ruby development

  • Writing configuration management scripts

  • Design, deployment, and support of software environments

The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our East Lansing center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to Michigan. The work location is 196 Crescent Rd East Lansing, MI 48823 United States. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Candidate must have basic knowledge in the following areas:

  • Linux administration

  • Shell scripting

  • Setting up virtual platforms (e.g. VMware, Virtualbox)

  • Bachelors degree- Required education must be obtained by first day of employment.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 1+ years working Docker containers

  • 1+ years working with CHEF

  • 1 year of networking

  • 1 year Python development
