Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a UX strategy role or a comparable field, such as information architecture, UX architecture, UX research, interaction design or human factors

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, human-computer interaction, user experience, design, research or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a UX strategy role or a comparable field, such as information architecture, UX architecture, UX research, interaction design or human factors

  • Master’s degree in information technology, human-computer interaction, user experience, design, research or a related field

  • Experience leading research activities such as user testing, interviews, surveys and competitive analysis

  • Experience in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of common wireframing and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision or Figma

  • Understanding of basic HTML/CSS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

  • Understanding of website analytics and tools such as Google or Adobe Analytics as well as the ability to derive actionable changes to experiences from those findings

Job Summary

The UX Strategist works closely with designers, developers, writers and product team members across the Rock Family of Companies to drive user research and design a product’s UX architecture through artifacts like wireframes, site maps and user flows to achieve business goals by exceeding client expectations. Applications should include a resume and/or LinkedIn profile as well as a portfolio displaying the applicant's work.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor junior-level UX team members on best practices and techniques in user research and UX architecture

  • Facilitate design thinking and stakeholder workshops

  • Develop user flows, wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes for rapid, iterative user interface definition and improvement

  • Develop information architecture, site maps and taxonomy backed by client data and behavior

  • Conduct UX research and present actionable recommendations and artifacts to business stakeholders based on a strategic analysis of data

  • Lead concept development, including contextual inquiries, persona and scenario development, and ideation sessions

  • Use primary and secondary research sources to understand consumer needs to build upon strategic product recommendations

  • Present and communicate UX recommendations clearly with high-quality artifacts to drive alignment between product managers, business stakeholders, writers, designers and developers

  • Work with the team in order to identify research opportunities and which methods to use in order to meet business goals and user needs, including working together to prioritize and size tasks to meet deadlines

  • Lead day-to-day projects with minimal managerial oversight
