Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience

  • 7 years of experience performing system design, implementation and administration

  • 7 years of programming experience

  • 2 years of experience as an architect or in an equivalent role

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience performing system design, implementation and administration

  • 10 years of programming experience

  • 4 years of experience in an architect or equivalent role

  • Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Advanced technical certifications

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of coding and computer language

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle processes

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies

Job Summary

The System Architect establishes the technical strategy within a capability domain; oversees the architectural design, development and deployment of the domain's overall software and/or system; develops the technical vision; and creates the road map to enable that vision.

Responsibilities

  • Establish architectural vision for a release train

  • Provide architectural guidance

  • Create and maintain architecture road maps

  • Consult with delivery teams

  • Ensure application capabilities do not conflict with capabilities owned by other release trains

  • Identify technical debt on the release train and come up with actionable plans to reduce or eliminate it

  • Collaborate with other system architects, enterprise architects and solutions architects when designing new solutions

  • Review applications and application designs to ensure they conform to enterprise standards

  • Establish technical standards

  • Manage catalog of applications within your domain to ensure they are well rationalized, technically fit and align to the capabilities of your domain

  • Ensure your release train applications and their dependencies are captured in our CMDB/Application Portfolio Management tool
