The Systems Architect/DevOps Architect works with various areas of the business to collaborate on an infrastructure strategy that is secure, scalable, high performance, and aligned with the goal of continuous integration and continuous deployment. Additionally, this team member is responsible for helping build the standards for infrastructure, deployment, and security implementations with a keen eye toward the future state of technology and the industry. This team member will work closely with the Information Security team, the Infrastructure team, and the teams that manage deployments and tooling in order to build the framework that will take our technology into the future. The position is future focused, capable of moving quickly and taking risks, and challenges the status quo.
Help set strategic direction for infrastructure, security, deployment, and development initiatives alongside Systems Architecture, Information Security, Database Engineering, and delivery teams
Analyze public cloud service usage and cost, providing recommendations for the streamlining of billing, and more efficient usage of resources
Participate in a constant feedback loop among the community of Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Architecture and Enterprise Architecture
Perform administration and deployment of infrastructure for business-critical applications, supporting a transition to public cloud services
Mentor a DevOps team comprised of full stack (or aspiring full stack) engineers in the areas of infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline, and architecture
Work with software development teams to engineer and implement infrastructure solutions including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and more
Provide Tier 3 support in responding to escalations or outages impacting critical business functions
Provide evangelism for cutting edge, sustainable automation in continuously integrating and deploying to multiple environments
2-3 years experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
Prior history of managing traditional enterprise platforms for application run times, integration middleware, and relational databases
Knowledge of tools, applications, and architectural patterns associated with CI/CD and cloud development
Strong understanding of security tenets
Experience with Infrastructure as code
Ability to think analytically and advocate for creative solutions
Inherent need to challenge assumptions
Ability to work collaboratively with a “virtual team” comprised of members of other teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Delivery experience as a software engineer for on-premises or cloud applications
Experience in policy/standard creation and acceptance
