Robert Half International Sr. Financial Analyst in DETROIT, Michigan
Our non-profit Wayne County client is in need of a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for cash and treasury management, including managing banking relationships and completing cash analysis. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for cost leveling and analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be responsible for analysis of financial statements, such as analysis of the balance sheet and profit and loss statements.
Survey financial results, condense key trends, appraise current and future business risks, and relay critical updates to senior leadership in the course of normal preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting
Assess and execute financial analysis in order to optimize business performance
Develop business, operational, and financial processes to be repeatable and understandable for all necessary teams
Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately
Coordinate with Functional leads to draft management reporting, accounting and compliance advisement, and guarantee alignment of operational initiatives
Build advantageous relationships with integral business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership
Offer assistance for ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests as necessary
Power existing management reporting by evaluating financial results, distilling and synthesizing issues, and articulating key updates to senior-level staff
The ideal Senior Financial Analyst must have 5+ years of experience as a senior analyst and 10+ years of accounting and finance experience. The ideal candidate must also have non-profit experience. In addition, the ideal candidate would have analysis experience supporting an operations team. The ideal candidate must also have strong systems experience, such as Financial Edge, Razors Edge or a Blackbaud product and Excel experience, including pivot tables and vLookups. This is a potential interim to hire position for the right candidate.
Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
CPA or MBA preferred
Skilled in working cross functionally across teams and gaining favor of key decision makers
Demonstrated knowledge of Blackbaud Software
General familiarity with Financial Statement
Deep understanding of Data Analysis
Solid understanding of cost analysis
Cash Flow Analysis experience
Adeptness in Financial Edge
Foundational knowledge in Treasury Management
Experience with Microsoft Excel
This position requires relevant experience in operations finance
Prior experience in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
Skilled at process reengineering and optimization
Finance or Business BA/BS degree or one in a related field required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Able to think critically and operate effectively with management
Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills
