Senior Business AnalystIn this role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, the Senior Business Analyst works with the Information Technology (IT) team and Business Analysis Manager with primary responsibility for both creating processes, templates, and methods to accomplish analysis, design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of enterprise applications, as well as undertaking these activities on various projects. This position will partner closely with the Business, internal Corporate Services Support staff and IT to provide technical support to solve business problems, ensuring that the business has the entirety of its technology needs met. This will include resolving application integration issues and planning for the selection and implementation of new technologies to service this customer base. The Sr. BA may coach more junior BAs in various ways.The Senior Business Analyst is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan reporting to the Business Analyst Manager. This position may be contract-to-hire. Paid relocation is not available.This position is at the Associate level, internally. Key Responsibilities:•Gathering/Documentation:•Creates templates to support various methods of requirements engineering, for re-use•Determines which method for requirements elicitation will work best in each projects' unique set of circumstances; makes recommendations for more junior BAs relative to which methods would be most effective and expedient•Supports the BA Manager and other IT areas (including Security and Operations) to create a set of standard non-functional requirements to be used on all projects•Works with internal customers to identify specific user requirements and determine system needs to assure project deliverables meet customer expectations.•Interviews employees at all levels to analyze work procedures and operational methods for the needs analysis stage of implementation. Documents current and desired processes, ensuring all documentation is kept up-to-date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.•Maintains and resolves requirements issues; coaches other BAs through such situations.•Creates functional specifications for delivering customer solutions.•Assists with the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and training documents.Solutions:•Works with IT to deliver solutions and defining the approach for solution development and recommends business process enhancements.•Participates in the design and development/implementation of applications•Participates in problem solving in areas such as system design, input/output requirements and procedural flow between departments and/or business systems. Additional responsibilities that may be required:Testing (in absence of Quality Assurance Manager and staff):•Supports creation of templates for Test Strategy, test plans, test cases and test scripts.•Leads testing to assure quality products are delivered to ensure all processes work according to predetermined goals.•Facilitates user acceptance testing, documenting results of testing.•Resolves bugs and issues with business and IT. Support (during post-go live / warranty period, or as otherwise assigned):•Provides technical Level 2 support to the end users of applications.•Provide technical assistance in designing reporting systems, forms and related business tools.•Monitors system integrations for accuracy and completion.•Develops and maintains systems documentation.
