About the role:

The Industrial Cyber security Lead will support the industrial cyber security program across all GM plants globally. You will be responsible for driving and governing the implementation of security controls within the plant environment including recovery and response, remote access, network segregation, identity and access management, and endpoint security.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation and governance of various security controls within the plant environment, including security monitoring, remote access, network segregation, identity and access management, and endpoint security
  • Develop and drive the implementation of backup and recovery standards within the manufacturing environment
  • Develop security strategy and standards and drive the implementation within the manufacturing environment for all Ingress/Egress points including but not limited to cut-through proxies, Internet proxies, and Just in Time Firewalls
  • Act as a coach and mentor to team members, sharing knowledge associated with manufacturing environment, architecture, and networks
  • Proven ability to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical business area representatives
  • Experience in industrial control systems and manufacturing
  • Keep current with vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures as well as devoting time to research and development activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field acceptable with two years of experience in information security
  • 2-3 years hands-on experience in either: information security, network security and communications, manufacturing, or networks and protocols
  • Knowledge of real time systems and industrial environments
  • Experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding collaboration, team, and interpersonal skills
  • Work independently and manage workload with organization to meet expectations and objectives
  • Absorb, retain and organize information gathered from multiple sources and in a variety of formats
  • High level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Willingness to pursue one of the following certifications: CISSP

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant field
