Modis Inc Adhesives Application Engineer in Detroit, Michigan

An Adhesives Application Engineer job is available through Modis. This is a direct hire opportunity with an established adhesive manufacturer. The ideal candidate for the Adhesives Application Engineer job will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering and at least two years of experience solving technical/application problems onsite with customers in the automotive industry. The Adhesives Application Engineer will be responsible for maintaining technical service for existing customers as well as building relationships to help with new business development in the packaging, automotive, and woodworking markets.Responsibilities of the Adhesives Application Engineer include but are not limited to:•Planning and implementation of product introduction to customer facilities•Lead the support of new product and new application launches within specific segments•Respond to customer issues via phone or in person in a timely manner and with appropriate urgency•Troubleshoot product issues whether they be with application or chemistry•Developing relationships to show customers the value of products and what sets them apart from competition•Building detailed implementation plans to include the input of other company facilities•Identify key customers and prospects for potential customers•Represent the company by participating in industry and association organizations, committees and trade shows•Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and company safety proceduresQualifications for the Adhesives Application Engineer are as follows:•2+ years of proven experience working in a similar capacity•Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field (MBA preferred)•Ability to work and lead cross functional teams•Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and formal communication skills•Solid computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (SAP experience preferred)•Must be able to make formal presentations to groups internally and externally•Up to 75% travel requiredHome base for this job is your house! Preferably that would be located in Automotive Alley or Texas as client travel will be mainly in that geographic region after training.
