G-TECH Services, Inc. Travel Demand Modeling Research Specialist in Dearborn, Michigan


  • The candidate will play a pivotal role in developing our client's transportation operating system (tOS).

  • They will be an integral part of our client's "Mobility Research" department: a varied and interdisciplinary group that is part of Research and Advanced Engineering and is dedicated to cutting-edge research to improve transportation accessibility, mobility, and sustainability for all.

  • The candidate will help our client develop and simulate new and innovative mobility solutions, both for internal customers and for cities themselves.

  • Specific responsibilities include:

  • Help develop innovative transportation concepts and solutions for cities, including but limited to:

  • Shared Mobility Services

  • Multimodality

  • Smart Cities

  • Transportation Network Resilience

  • Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) Integration

  • Transportation Planning for Rapid Urbanization

  • Integrate our client's concepts and solutions into traditional macroscopic travel demand models and equivalent modelling frameworks (e.g. activity-based models)

  • Work with the team and external transportation partners, including commercial companies, universities, national labs, and government (e.g. MPOs and DOTs)

  • Work with our client's various groups : e.g. Mobility and City Solutions, Strategy, Global Data Insights and Analytics, Automated Vehicles, and Product Development


  • 2+ years’ experience in transportation modeling (coursework allowed)

  • 2+ years’ experience with macroscopic modelling software such as TransCAD, VISUM, CUBE, etc.

  • Experience working with transportation and demographic datasets (e.g. OD matrices, census) (coursework allowed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with city and government planners

  • Experience with developing “new mobility”

  • Experience with activity-based models

  • Expertise in mode choice and multimodality

  • Experience with microscopic modelling (e.g. car-following behavior)

  • Experience with using GIS


  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Industrial & Operations Engineering (with a focus in transportation) or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • PhD. In Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Industrial & Operations Engineering (with a focus in transportation) or equivalent.
