The Public Cloud Architect will help shape Ford’s implementation and usage of public cloud platforms – primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP) but including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Ford is rapidly expanding its public cloud presence and this position will be at the heart of that transformation. Position responsibilities include providing application teams guidance on architecting public cloud solutions, as well as coding automation templates to help them deploy services in an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipeline. The position will also research public cloud services to understand how they might help Ford innovate quickly. It requires some developer expertise & current coding experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Engineering

  • 3 + Years’ experience in Information Technology

  • 1+ years’ experience in an Architect role, anchor

  • 1+ years’ experience of developing public cloud solutions

  • 2+ years’ experience with programming languages, Java, Ruby, Python, PowerShell, Go, C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to Learn and motivated to challenge the status quo

  • Experience with GCP, Azure, AWS

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Innovative thinker with strong analytical and problem resolution skills

  • Experience with software development tools and continuous delivery and integration technologies, such as VS Code, GitHub, Jenkins

  • Scripting abilities - for building tools to perform system automation activities, such as Chef, Ansible, Perl, Python, Unix Shell (Preference on Python)

  • Experience with Agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban); working daily with agile teams to deliver product commitments

  • Strong security awareness throughout the software lifecycle

  • Hashicorp Terraform, Infrastructure API development

  • Experience with DevSecOps
