What you’ll be able to do:

  • Responsible for delivering high quality features and products that support various Ford Motor Company connected vehicle initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, Product Manager, Product Designer and a number of other Software Engineers to lead systems design, development, testing, and operations activities.

  • Responsible for working in the full technology stack with a primary component being cloud development.

  • Assume the role of Software Engineer with responsibilities to Define, Design, Develop, and Deploy applications/services and proof-of-concepts to support new and existing vehicle products and improvements.

  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of products using agile and test driven development principles.

  • Work with the Product Manager, and Product Designer to contribute to crafting the technology and tooling direction of the product and Location Based Services product line.

  • Review and support product defect analysis efforts.

  • Participate in integrated testing across the Connected Vehicle ecosystem to ensure end-to-end product quality.

  • Directly contribute to development activities utilizing Software Craftsmanship/Clean Code/Acute Programming principles.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

  • 2+ years of Java development experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Test Driven Development and Agile Methodologies

  • 2+ years of experience with Software Development tools (Backlog Management, Source Code Management, Test Management, CI/CD)

  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud environments (Azure/Pivotal Cloud Foundry)

  • 2+ years of experience with the Spring framework

  • 2+ years of experience with microservice development

Our preferred requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

  • Ford software delivery experience

  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry certification and/or experience

  • Familiarity with other common programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python)

  • Experience with iOS/Android Development

  • Development experience in multiple programming environments (Mobile, Vehicle Cloud)

  • API Development, including OAuth2

  • Understanding of in-vehicle architectures

  • Experience with embedded software

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
