The Enterprise Strategy Intern will be responsible for supporting Anthem’s Chief Strategy Officer and members of the Enterprise Strategy Team as they work across the business to execute large and small CEO and SLT priorities that span LOBs, propelling both Anthem and business unit Blue Chips and long-term goals.

Primary duties include supporting Strategy Team members to:

• Partner with leaders across the organization engaged in strategic initiatives that help to set the overall corporate direction

• Assist leaders in assessing the current environment, external factors, competitive landscape, and facilitate the development of key enterprise strategies

• Support business unit leads in developing and implementing business plans and strategies

• Partner with business owners to identify and scope innovative growth and efficiency opportunities to achieve performance targets

• Assess strategic options in the context of overall corporate direction, financial targets, and market needs

• Coordinate activities across the organization to ensure alignment of business strategies, metrics, KPIs, and more

• Perform foundational and hypothesis-driven analytics, including but not limited to:

• Developing and analyzing business performance reports (e.g., claims data, provider data, utilization data); providing notations of performance deviations and anomalies

• Conducting predictive modeling and translating insights into data visualization artifacts

• Translating analytics outcomes into insights that are easy to digest and inform large and small operational decisions

• Create and maintain databases to track and analyze business and related performance

• Perform other functions as requested

Specific functions for this role:

strategy conceptualization, alignment, and execution, competitive intelligence, market analytics, communication, collaboration within a highly matrixed organization, project management, discretion

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/BA in a business-related majors preferred

• Interest to specialize and further develop a career in Strategy, Consulting, Analytics, Marketing, Organizational Effectiveness

• Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel

• Highly proficient in analytics, communication, leadership, and presentations

• Project management experience or education preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent interpersonal skills
