The Auto Club Group Claims Project Analyst - CEBU in Dearborn, Michigan
The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions): *
Responsible for the development, monitoring and maintenance of various reports, dashboards and databases utilized to produce outputs, identify and resolve problems, manage expenditures, improve departmental processes, etc. Participates in the development and support of departmental systems using various software and tools. Works with management personnel to identify analytical requirements and define parameters, evaluates alternatives and develops functional/technical specifications for reports. Conducts testing and makes modifications to ensure accurate results. Analyzes data, identifies trends and makes recommendations regarding the development or modification of procedures or processes to improve departmental operation. Identifies and resolves problems as indicated. Develops, implements, and maintains automated business solutions. Coordinates user testing of new automated applications.
Coordinates implementation of changes, enhancements, and new functions with other areas.
Identifies and analyzes system concerns and makes recommendations regarding options. Represents department in meetings and on project teams.
Coordinates the development and distribution of user training materials for in-house developed applications.
Serves as project leader on comprehensive projects to include: formulating, coordinating, controlling, monitoring and reporting on project development efforts. May develop databases, prepare queries and other reports for use in the interpretation and analysis of Claims related data.
Responsible for budget preparation, monitoring and data analysis to assist claims personnel in expense management.
Performs a variety of cost/benefit analyses in order to assist in the decision making process.
- Preferred Qualifications: *
The use of application development tools (Visual Basic and Access Developer's Toolkit, Internet, Intranet and web page development)
The use of programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQR, SQL, etc)
Service of membership and insurance products
Project management certification
AAA membership and insurance products, sales and service delivery systems, and processing systems
Insurance-related terminology, procedures and practices
Claims processing systems (e.g. FACTS, Pisces, IPM, CPS, CCC, MSBT, Footprints, automated estimating software, etc.)
Claims policies and procedures
People Soft financial and human resource systems
Microsoft Office application specifically Excel and Access
Willingness to relocate

Works in a temperature controlled office environment.
- Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify): *
College level coursework in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Analyzing and summarizing data to identify trends and assess potential impacts
Analyzing automation opportunities, researching alternatives, and recommending solutions
Conducting cost/benefit analyses
Developing and/or documenting procedures or training materials
Utilizing computer software applications for designing, developing, testing, and implementing basic to medium complex business solutions
Using a variety of software applications including: OBIEE, Web Focus, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, etc. to format databases, write queries, generate reports, etc.
Developing/building databases, creating macros, and importing data
Working on multiple and diverse projects simultaneously
Organizing and planning effectively
Leading and coordinating the design and implementation of small to medium projects
Designing business unit specific processes to improve work flow
Identifying, researching, and resolving business problems
Plan, design, coordinate, develop, and conduct user training as necessary for successful implementation of field automation tools
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated skills in:
Strong written communication skills including proposal preparation, reports and technical writing
Security and control procedures – i.e./Footprints/CLMS/In-house developed databases (e.g./ maintaining tables, reset of passwords, etc.)
Budget preparation and variance analysis
Understand the fundamentals of corporate insurance systems (e.g. CPS, FACTS) and internally developed forms, templates, and automated applications
Prepare, monitor and analyze department-wide budget
Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports
Analyze problems to identify causes and recommend automation solutions
Consult on productivity and process improvement issues
Design/support business unit specifications/reports
Develop and distribute performance support tools (e.g., job aids, README files, etc.)
Quickly master new software products for evaluation and/or implementation
Provide technical guidance and assistance on a variety of software products to all levels of product users
Act as a liaison between department users and systems technicians
Communicate clearly and concisely about technical topics to business or technical personnel
Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public
Develop testing protocol
Working effectively in a team environment
Working under pressure to complete assignments in a timely manner
