Ford is seeking to hire a person(s) with algorithm design and embedded software knowledge in the development of Lighting algorithms on the Body Modules team.

What you’ll be able to do:

• Responsible for working on a team of Lighting Developers to create implementation requirements in the Body Control Module (BCM).

• Detailed knowledge of the functional specification, conduct design reviews, help resolve vehicle/bread board issues.

• Provide technical leadership to the controls and electronics team with respect to Lighting.

• Translate feature level requirements into implementation level control system specifications for Lighting

• Resolve issues and/or ambiguities found in specifications during the vehicle development cycle for Lighting

• Work with the FSS software team explaining Lighting algorithm requirements

• Design state diagrams in Visio and develop Matlab Simulink models to represent an implementation for Lighting

• Conduct software design review with Suppliers relating to Lighting

• Support vehicle launch relating to Lighting

• Generate the Lighting section of the BCM functional specifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study

• 5+ years of engineering work experience

• 3+ years of experience in Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design

• 3+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines

• 2+ years of Lighting design work experience

• 1+ years of CAN/LIN experience

• 1+ years of experience in Matlab/Simulink

Our preferred requirements:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study

• 7+ years of engineering work experience

• 5+ years of Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design

• 5+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines

• 3+ years of Lighting Control work experience

• Familiarity with Teamcenter VSEM, JIRA, and Github

• Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSar, SOA and Functional Safety

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products

• Experience in working with and/or for an electronics control manufacturer
