Audio Head Unit, In Car Entertainment Application Engineer
Job Description & Qualifications:
Work with Audio Head Unit supplier to deliver BIC performance for AM/FM radio, Satellite Radio, HD Radio and Acoustics.
Meet program milestones that include commercial kickoff, Packaging support, Component releasing and change control, wiring, subsystem compatibility, quality & reliability documentation, component & vehicle DV, Prototype build support. Conduct/coordinate vehicle DV, Oversee vehicle DV (thermal, acoustics, reception, Bluetooth, USB), Work closely with Core team to develop and resolve spec issues and concerns.
Lead problems resolution using 5D disciplines. Utilize CAN tools to Flash in car entertainment modules. Diagnose system interactions (capture CAN logs, Interpret CAN message and critical CAN messaging, etc.)
Audio Head Unit Design and Release
Lead program packaging studies and meetings
Manage supplier interface
Coordinate supplier Software development and Software change management
Meet program milestones: commercial kickoff, subsystem compatibility, quality & reliability documentation, coordinated studio and HMI input, Safety office reviews, component & vehicle DV, Appearance Approval and PV, Build support
Support component cost optimization
Attribute sign off (EQ, Reception, Chimes, etc.)
Support multimedia sign off process - Meet program milestones: commercial kickoff, subsystem compatibility, quality & reliability documentation, coordinated studio and HMI input, component & vehicle design validation, appearance approval and production validation and build support
Conduct vehicle DV (functional testing, AM/FM, HD Radio, Satellite Radio, chime volume tuning)
Oversee core vehicle design validation by audio SMEs (software, thermal, acoustic tuning, reception, Bluetooth, USB)
Current model support for audio head units: Support Warranty & Customer Satisfaction Targets
BSEE / BSME
3+ year of experience leading/ supporting global Audio Head Unit Design and Release
3+ year experience leading system level interface DV (System level functional analysis, non-typical use case verification, bench testing)
3+ year experience interacting/supporting vehicle DV (thermal, acoustics, reception, Bluetooth, USB)
Automotive Design and Release experience
Experience using CAN based tools
Ability to manage a dynamic environment and keep deliverables on time.
Understand vehicle electrical architectures (Wiring, components)
