What you will be able to do

OCIO Enterprise Architecture is seeking a solution/enterprise architect to support Owner Web and Customer Experience (CX) IT PDO teams to provide strong strategic and technical leadership to a new and growing team. CX Architecture helps enable key CX initiatives to life working with multi-functional IT and business partners maximizing the CX innovation process and human centered design thinking to improve ownership experience. The candidate should possess a strong passion for technology and be customer focused. The initial focus will be establishing a technical point of view and technical implementation of ownership experience for early engagement and after sales service lifecycle. A phenomenal opportunity to hone technical skills and grow business sense/leadership/communication skills. CX is a growing and exciting area.

Candidates should have established experience in inspiring change, and have experience leading the development of innovative ideas from concept to fruition. You will help the advancement of the following:

  • Business, Information, Application and Technology Architecture

  • Technology Lifecycle Management

  • Application Portfolio Management

  • Architecture Governance

  • Integration with other IT Systems

  • Develop strategy and requirements for systems that will implement Architecture processes, standards, methodologies and artifacts

  • Ensure internal and external partner requirements are gathered

  • Work with external suppliers to maximize/align COTS products “out of the box” capability to strategy

  • Communicate requirements to Product Team

  • Establish and supervise road map to deliver requirements

  • Become the specialist in the use of required COTS products

  • Assist in development of training material for architects and other users

  • Provide a regular cadence with partners for information sharing and capability demonstrations

  • Ensure partner input/feedback is incorporated into requirements

  • Support efforts of Architecture Management in driving and maintaining standards

  • Supervise and report roadmap status

  • Prepare presentation materials for the Architecture leadership team and other audiences

The minimum requirements we seek

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years of experience in interoperability standards and methods

  • 3+ years of experience with J2EE technologies, Rest Web Services, Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Integration, MVC and Spring Cloud Services) and/or Messaging architectures

  • 2+ years of full application/system development lifecycle knowledge and experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) methods and implementation technologies such as web services in a distributed architecture deployments

  • 2+ years of experience as lead architect on multiple large-scale product or enterprise initiatives

  • Experience with Ford IT architecture processes and architecture work

  • Architecture knowledge with experience in providing technical solutions for projects

  • Ability to derive, define and explicitly represent various artifacts and results

  • Excellent problem solving skills including leading problem solving teams

  • Self-starter; ability to work both independently and with a team

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across organizational boundaries

  • Provide support for application performance issues

  • Participate in vendor solution evaluation processes

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
