Position Description:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for coordination of activities resulting in the timely deployment of products and services in accordance with Nuspire quality standards. The Technical Project Manager will work directly with clients and internal departments throughout project implementation engagements. The person in this role will continuously manage multiple engagements across a variety of different customer scenarios involving select security products, services, and technologies.

A vital aspect of service delivery is communication by the Technical Project Manager. He or she is the single point of continuity for the duration of the project's implementation cycle. The Technical Project Manager?s communications set clear expectations with customers at the onset of the project, keep all stakeholders informed of project progress in a timely manner, and escalate all implementation issues that pose a threat to customer satisfaction and the timely completion of projects.

Specifically, this role is responsible for the successful implementation of managed security services such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, log collector appliances, and timely turn-ups of managed security services such as event monitoring, firewall policy reviews, and vulnerability scanning.


  • Works with sales and the technical organization to translate sales information and service order agreements into defined operational requirements that are used to develop the full-scale project implementation plans.

  • Provides the requisite documentation and notifications to other business units to support fulfillment of their business processes related to the products and services being implemented.

  • Tracks and maintains internal and external project dependencies and resource allocation.

  • Communicates timelines to appropriate individuals to ensure each resource understands when tasks are required.

  • Works with project team members to ensure that schedule data is accurately interpreted.

  • Works to confirm and monitor resource assignments and on-time commitments, communicating any resource inconsistencies.

  • Identifies and escalates resource constraints to Management.

  • Track status of new projects and current operations.

  • Ensures project schedules are up to date for forecasting and reporting.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-6 years of experience using well-honed project/process management methodologies to manage the provisioning and/or the installation of network-level devices, preferably in an outsourced or managed services environment.

  • Working knowledge of network security devices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, or SIEM a big plus.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources?operations, engineering, management, and customers in response to shifting priorities, escalations, and unanticipated project task adjustments.

  • Demonstrates superior communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate service delivery topics and project status across all levels of the organization?engineering, operations, business managers, sales force, and senior executives. ?

  • Technically competent with various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and other project/process management tools.

  • Maintains tact and reason when engaging complex, challenging, or chaotic situations to influence, change, and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions and understandings. ?

Education/Certifications/Training Preferred:

  • Project Management Professional Certification
