Kelly Services Quality Technician in Chesterfield, Michigan

Basic Purpose and Objective:

Process customer and supplier Quality Assurance documentation for metal and plastic fastener and component operations. Maintain records, files, correspondence and other Quality Assurance documentation systems. Works under direct supervision, performing varied duties in accordance with standard procedures. Work may require knowledge of related operations.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Layout of studs and metal clips

  • Assist in performing testing

  • Compare all the features stipulated or implied on relevant blueprint (s) to the assigned manufactured product, and records results on Inspection Report form (s).

  • Performs gauging adequacy studies or key/significant product features.

  • Compiles and distributes Inspection Instruction Standards for new products and updates same for existing products.

  • Calibrates the measuring equipment employed by the manufacturing function.

  • Maintains the sampled parts file.

  • Maintains the gage calibration system

  • Relates all discrepancies and concerns found via the aforementioned activities to the Quality Manager.

  • Use machines to section parts for hidden features

  • Lift fixtures to and from measuring tables

  • Perform physical testing of products (insertion/removal, hardness, etc.)

  • Design/create mounting fixtures or auxiliary gaging tools.

Education Required:

  • High School Education with some technical training in quality disciplines.

Experience Required:

  • Time in an ISO/IATF manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of basic Quality Assurance activities.

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in Quality Control
