MEC Inc. Programmer Analyst in Byron Center, Michigan

As an employee/owner at MEC you will work with users and IT personnel to develop and maintain software applications that support our various manufacturing facilities using Epicor CMS ERP.

Strategy & Planning

  • Assist in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications and in training new and existing users.

  • Ensure that Epicor CMS ERP software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.

  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.

  • Work with Epicor CMS for prompt resolution of any problems or emergencies.

Operational Management

  • Work with users and IT personnel to resolve problems with software products or company software systems.

  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.

  • Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.

  • Train end users to operate new or modified programs.

  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration and 3 years related work experience.

  • Certifications are a plus

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining ERP systems.

  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including SQL.

  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.

  • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.

  • Thorough understanding of IBM System i or AS/400.

  • Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.

  • Experience in supply chain management or APICS certification

  • EDI experience and understanding is a plus
