Position Summary

This position is responsible for building, and overseeing delivery of, a foundational and strategic roadmap for insights and analytics, and to grow and develop this discipline within the company; including process optimization and managing external research services. This person will be accountable for defining, leading and managing Market Research and Consumer Insights across the enterprise. She/He will work closely with the Marketing, Merchandising and Retail leadership to identify research needs and priorities, based on the company?s marketing strategy and operating plans, and based on an in-depth understanding of the consumer and competitive landscapes.

Bachelor's Degree (Required) Business

Economics, Finance, Statistics, Or related field

Master of Business Admin (Preferred)

Job Experience

Ten (10) years Experience in similar role/field.

Supervisory Experience

5 TO 10 YEARS

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Lead the development of an insights driven culture and organization that synthesizes multi-source information to create actionable strategic insights to drive better decisions

Attract and develop top talent - increase technical competency of insights team to choose best research designs/methods/analytics and effectively communicating actionable insights to leadership

Engage the executive team and provide thought leadership and guidance as the company seeks to enhance the customer experience and make smarter, more informed choices across the business

Be a trusted partner to the new Retail Leadership team in delivering the Retail Strategy and excelling as an insights-driven retailer

Provide the business with the insights and related tools, reporting and processes that it needs to deliver on the corporate vision to be a best-in-class business that feels local, where relationships matter

Work with the wider leadership team to ensure associates are utilizing new capabilities to derive actionable insights, develop strategies, implement action, measure results and course correct

Oversee consumer insights and analysis including the development/execution of consumer research, leveraging shopper card data to deliver actionable insights and determine relevant promotions/communications for customers

Manage periodic and ongoing research initiatives to support, validate and define customer segmentation, competitive positioning and other business needs, as defined by cross-functional partners

Drive use of category insights and analysis within merchandising, marketing and operations (including business category planning, assortment, pricing); Primary user to support and leverage syndicated vendor tools and manufacturer resources

Foster a culture of accountability within the business, gaining buy-in and ownership of insight-driven opportunities and remedies that drive growth and improve the customer experience
