The incumbent will work in collaboration with finance, operations, application engineering, advanced concept engineering, R&D and commercial/marketing teams across sites and business units.
Working with key sites primarily throughout the U.S. Market (i.e. Clearwater, FL; Solon, OH; Akron, OH; Beaverton, MI; Gaithersburg, MD; Portage, WI; et al), the incumbent can be remote based, although ideally within reasonable proximics one of our key locations.
He/She will be responsible for reviewing | implementing | improving internal business & finance processes to support the Life Sciences growth/profitability model, and provide financial analyses and recommendations to support alignment with strategic objectives of growth and profitability.
Specific areas of focus for improvement will include costing data accuracy|timeliness and all financial processes that support quoting, transfer|interco pricing, external pricing and new product introduction.
Finance Processes Improvement with focus on costing master data, quoting rates, transfer|interco pricing, external pricing, new product introduction and new part review:
Assess existing financial and transversal business processes in the focus areas
Propose recommendations for improvement (organization/people, process and/or systems)
Design and implement agreed upon solutions
Document changed processes, provide training for Finance community (for transversal processes, will work as the finance team leader or member within multi-functional project teams.)
Costing Master Data maintenance and communication
Maintain master product line and cost center mapping including exceptional sales rules for shared product lines, and in collaboration with Supply Chain | Data Governance Manager. Make information available to interested parties using digital platform
Coordinate the annual standard cost development process for the US sites to ensure transparency of product cost and standardization of calculation/reporting
Drive continuous improvement on internal cost accuracy to ensure standardized reporting
Publish annual work center rates broken out by element on digital shared platform
Gate keeper for new part creation: verify product line, quantity, cost roll, controls activation, controls NP status codes
Reporting & Analysis:
Drive monthly new products tracking and reporting analysis post launch (including orders, sales, margin, implementation costs, and other NPI scorecard measurements)
Perform root cause analysis on variances between actuals to target assumptions (price, costs, margin)
Organize reviews with relevant parties (AE, Ops, Commercial, Purchasing, Finance etc…) with a goal of generating actionable plans
Special projects:
Cost/benefit analysis, payback calculations, forward looking financial profitability impacts of projects (ACE & R&D)
Customer specific product profitability analysis
Adhoc initiatives / analysis: can be site and/or BU specific
Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Finance or Technical Operations; Required.
Master's Degree - Preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of working experience within Finance/Operations within Manufacturing Environment; Required.
Strong project management skills, Required.
Excellent financial analysis skills, plus ability to communication financial information to leadership, stakeholders and non-finance groups, Required.
Strong collaboration skills: Ability to understand changes in manufacturing, engineering, R&D and Commercial Strategy and provide insights; Required.
Advanced Computer/System Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, plus ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, QAD, Oracle); Required.
Experience implementing digital solutions & tools; Preferred.
