Major Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot network based services: File and Print services, Email, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot district messaging and meeting systems
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot document imaging solution
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot windows software deployments
  • Monitor and troubleshoot district door security access system
  • Provide and maintain documentation of backup processes and retention periods
  • Provide support for staff
  • Provide and test backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures
  • Develop and provide training and technical documentation for staff members
  • Work with vendors in the research, development and implementation CMS (ERP) system
  • Prepare and maintain written documentation of CMS (ERP) system
  • Work with department leaders implementing new software and hardware technologies
  • Work with vendors in the process of troubleshooting escalated incidents
  • Work with IT Manager implementing new sever and computer technologies
  • Participate in appropriate in service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings
  • Serve as a role model for staff in demonstrating positive attitude, appropriate attire and an effective work ethic
  • Assist in the continued implementation of the CMS software system
  • Encourage safety, housekeeping, and organizational practices and lead by example
  • Promote and facilitate Magna’s Open Door Process without reprisal; effective communication and Fair Treatment
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Education
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 2 years computer experience
  • Approximately (but not limited to) 60+ desktops/notebooks, mobile clients, 100+ users
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 Active Directory based forest/domains, VMware, MS Exchange, MS SQL Server 2012 based database systems, CMS ERP landscape on IBM AS400, MS Terminal Services, SharePoint, NetApp
  • CAD workstations with network FlexLM licensing for software
  • Zebra label printers, multifunction networked devices for printing, scanning, copying, and faxing
  • Aruba wireless network, HP ProCurve Layer 3 POE switches
  • Avaya IP Office 500 IP phone system voicemail server
