Dow Chemical Commercial Tools & Process Associate in Auburn, Michigan

The Dow Chemical has an opportunity for a Commercial Tools and Process Associate *with the Commercial Tools and Process Management team, located in MidlandorAuburn MI. *

This role will be assisting in the development and implementation of Commercial Tools and Process strategies and plans for key Dow businesses, partnering closely with the business, functional partners and IT. S(he) will be able to operate in a rapidly evolving environment, be commercially-oriented, have a high attention to detail, and have the capacity to both think and do. S(he) will be obsessed with user-experience, be a self-starter, have good judgment, and be able to work in partnership with project management to ensure the effective implementation and success of commercial initiatives.

The individual will consult with the businesses, functions and IT in support of the most effective implementation of business processes and tools that will contribute to the bottom line of Dow and that will get and maintain Dow at the edge of the latest technology. S(he) will be expected to manage large amounts of data and complexities and be able to translate them into practical, executable tasks.

Must have extremely good analytical skills, must be an innovator and should have great communication and leadership attributes.

This position is accountable for assisting in successful management and delivery of various projects in support of the Commercial Support organization. The successful candidate will deliver against these primary areas of accountability: 1) Provide support for all aspects of project management lifecycle, 2) Support client interface through all phases of project delivery from implementations to run-the-business maintenance and, 3) Act as the liaison between the end user and the application technical teams in support of issue resolution and application enhancement.

  • Core responsibilities *

  • Project Management

o Support projects for the Global Commercial Discipline organization. Support includes:

  • Business Engagement / Implementation Readiness

  • Implementation Support / End-User Training

  • Run-the-business Transition

o Serve as a regional support team member

o Actively participate on the cross-functional teams

o Provide recurring and ad-hoc project status and regional updates to internal and business leadership

o Partner with other support teams to successful transition the business to an updated work flow and overall improved process

Client Interface

o Support client interface and relationship management

o Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with the business leadership and associated support teams to ensure successful delivery of the project deliverables

o Proactively develop client communications and associated plans to support the implementation and change management of the Commercial Discipline projects

Implementation Readiness

o Partner with the business to facilitate data validation / readiness

o Facilitate end-user application training to support effective change management, ensure clear understanding of application functionality and validate any changes to the associated work flow

o Provide business specific communications regarding their implementation timelines

Work Process Documentation

o Create / maintain application work process documentation in support of new user training and on-going support

o Collaborate with the businesses, supporting functional teams and internal SMEs to determine best practice work flow/process recommendations

Application Support

o Act as an application SME to end-users as their initial point of contact to provide troubleshooting for applications issues

o Document and escalate application issues and enhancements to the technical development team to ensure a timely resolution

o Assist with enhancement prioritization and testing

  • Required Qualifications:*

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Information Technology

  • 1-4 years of process and technology improvement experience preferably with focus in Marketing and Sales / Customer Service or Supply Chain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Marketing, Information Technology

  • Strong knowledge of the Dow processes

  • Reporting Experience and knowledge
