Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to be responsible for the electrical development and release of the FS electronic controller in the customer’s system. The Resident Engineer is the primary engineering customer interface.

Core Responsibilities:

Technical interaction with GM engineering.

 Responsible for supporting urgent and complex problems and evaluating alternatives.

 Bring customer requirements into Conti project team.

 Support Product Development Team (PDT) meetings.

 Coordinate GM review meetings (schematic, DFMEA, etc…).

 Track vehicle timing requirements and part availability dates (Mule, IVER, etc..).

 Have access to Conti electrical circuit schematics and subcomponent specifications.

 Write/support PCEs/EWOs/CAB for release and change of hardware, software, calibrations, brackets and associated fasteners.

 Support bench and software testing of vehicle build activities and perform subsystem debug.

 Support with root cause, resolution and verification of system issues and test incidents.

 Able to work efficiently within a matrix engineering organization. Assist in the successful execution of all tasks of product development, design, and validation within the scope of the functional, quality, time and cost objectives as agreed with the project manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

 Support to resolve issues on assigned CTR or SSTS sections .

 Support in module packaging in vehicle.

 Support Vehicle Assembly Center launch of product.

 Support engineering team to ensure technical requirements are evaluated and met through development of robust engineering designs.

 Support coordination of engineering activities with worldwide teams in P FS.

 Provide technical advice/opinion solicited by program and/or member of own or other departments.

 As required, travel to Germany/Canada/China/Brazil/Mexico/other locations to support the responsibilities as identified above.

Job Requirements

.Required Qualifications:

 BS EE in related discipline or advanced degree or equivalent.

 Able to read an electrical schematic and proficient in circuit operation.

 Proficient in GM process/databases/tools (i.e. E­squared, PRTS, ESIMS, APM, Teamcenter, GM­LAN, etc..).

 Minimum 2 years experience in design/development.

 High level of self initiative, ability to plan and execute many tasks in parallel.

 Strong problem solving skills.

 Effective communication skills­ responsible for complete and unambiguous communications, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Leadership, negotiation and presentation skills

 Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

 German and/or Spanish language skills
