Qualifications

The Propulsion System Simulation Advanced Analysis Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the evaluation of fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability for new powertrains and vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data analysis. The Lead Engineer proposes concepts to achieve functional requirements and create models to analyze the performance of these concepts relative to requirements. The Lead Engineer is responsible for the overall project analysis activities including simulation performed directly by the Lead Engineer and also by others. He/she is responsible for communication of the results in oral presentations and written reports to senior leadership. In addition, the Lead Engineer supports development of the FCA Powertrain strategy through technical analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience

  • Experience in modeling complex systems

  • Good Excel skills

  • Good communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university

  • Strong MATLAB skills

  • Familiarity with EPA fuel economy regulations and procedures

  • Experience creating virtual models to simulate performance, fuel economy, drivability and capability as well as correlate these models to real world results

  • Experience modeling of electrified powertrain components and/or systems

  • Experience creating virtual models and correlate to real world results

  • Knowledge of advanced powertrain technology

  • Experience with diesel technology

  • Experience with hybrid technology

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Capable of quickly managing/processing large amounts of data
