Qualifications

FCA is seeking a qualified Development Lead ā€“ Infotainment: High Line Headunits (Radios) VP4R responsible for leading infotainment highline headunit engineering teams developing, implementing, executing, validating, and delivering software and hardware in collaboration with Tier I suppliers across High Line Headunits (Radios).

The scope includes:

  • Global integration of vehicle and component functions/features/requirements with linkage to hardware performance, software optimization, and connectivity/cloud systems

  • Actively direct internal and supplier engineering teams

  • Manage hardware and software development

  • Drive issue discovery, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to achieve timing, cost, and investment directives; collaborate with cross-functional teams (HMI, Vehicle, Validation/Requirement Leads, Systems) making well-analyzed decisions delivering quality improvements

  • Lead engineering teams delivering hardware and software for high line headunit systems (radios);

  • Present to L1/L2 Executive Management

  • Integration of solid requirements and specifications into software systems

  • Integration of solid requirements and specifications into hardware systems; drive software/hardware execution along system engineering ā€˜Vā€™ model, including active engagement in Tier 1 software and hardware reviews

  • Design and release of software/hardware in collaboration with Tier I suppliers; generation and execution of DVPR/FMEA; oversite and qualifying of automated test scripts, procedures, software tools and practices; oversite and qualifying of hardware design practices

  • Interface and engagement with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and other cross functional organizations

  • Deep dive, analysis, root cause, and corrective action of issues; capture of data logs; proactive improvements and quality enhancements

  • Integration of electrical architectures and interfaces

  • Implementation of software algorithms

  • Integration of Apple Carplay/Google Android Auto and upcoming projection technologies

  • Interface and engagement with other cross functional organizations such as interior, mechanics, studio design, electrical architectures; interface with regional colleagues and experts globally

  • Formulation and assessment using key product indicator metrics; global software/hardware integration into vehicle systems and across functional domains; lead software/hardware changes and assurance of bug-free function

  • Manufacturing interface with vehicle assembly plant testing tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university

  • A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of Design and Release experience

  • Knowledgeable of Requirements Documentation and Definition

  • Able to root cause issues and analyze data with corrective actions

  • Knowledgeable of vehicle networks (i.e. CAN)

  • Ability to work with and lead cross functional teams

  • Strategic out-of-the-box thinker

  • Experience with Mechanical and Electrical Integration

  • Knowledgeable on vehicular electrical architectures

  • Ability to use and master analytical equipment

  • Refined presentation skills

  • System Engineering knowledge

  • FMEA, DVPR knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • Able to act decisively within a team

  • Understanding of vehicle interiors, and mechanics

  • Project Management Experience

  • Experience with exposure to infotainment, connectivity, and consumer electronics (1 year) [for infotainment positons]

  • Experience with CAN bus analyzers (Vector)

  • A passion for technology

  • Well-rounded outward attitude

  • Ability to use Apple and Google test tools for Carplay and Android Auto

  • Ability to use Bluetooth, USB, and WiFi test tools.

  • Knowledge of Teamcenter or equivalent CAD tools

  • Knowledge of C+, Python or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Quality Methods and tools (DFSS, reactive, and system behavior testing)

  • Knowledge in security and encryption technologies

  • Knowledgeable on Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto specification / certification requirements and processes

  • Knowledge in app development
