Position Summary:

Part-time Co-Op Intern for Corporate Development department. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of opportunities including financial projections and valuation analysis. Track and evaluate acquisition and organic growth opportunities. Track and update market environment including industry trends, competitor information, and acquisitions in related industries.


  • Working together with AMG’s Strategy Team research and analyze industry leaders and competitors that meet the criteria established and qualify as M&A Targets.

  • Develop company profiles with key data including financial relevant information.

  • Support Discounted Cash Flows (DCF) Financial Modeling to establish Enterprise Valuation and Transaction Pay Structures.

  • Review Confidential Information (Memorandums) and other materials to analyze the company gaining a comprehensive understanding of Business Operations and Financial performance.

  • Support the Due Diligence Process Planning and Activity Tracking with functional teams.

  • After finalizing a buy process support Integration Process Planning and Tracking to ensure that the value milestones are met and are taking place timely.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Must be highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and planning skills

  • Proven self-starter; able to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty; able to effectively operate without constant supervision

  • Prior intern/co-op experience in Corporate Development, Strategy, Business Management, or Finance is a plus

  • Experience in analyzing financial statements (Annual reports, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements);

  • Project Management experience is a plus

  • Skilled with the MS Office suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience in developing Excel financial models.

  • MS Project experience.

Physical Effort:

light physical effort which may included occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.
