General Electric Sr Staff Cyber Security Architect in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Role Summary:

The Senior Security Architect works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas. They are responsible for driving the design and development efforts related to architecture, scalability, availability and performance alignment w/ the product roadmap. The Senior Architect may interact w/ functional leaders to support broad technical initiatives. They are expected to mentor or train junior Architects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner on technology products/programs to analyze and identify application security control objectives, controls, and capabilities that are and/or should be implemented in platforms and applications. Provide enterprise stakeholders and customers information on gaps and associated risks.

  • Analyze design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive cyber security risk and architecture viewpoint

  • Review and/or analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team

  • Participate in the CT domain governance model

  • Contribute to the development of infrastructure platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses

  • Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support actives Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years IT experience

  • Minimum 2 years in Cloud and/or Application Security Architecture experienceEligibility Requirements:

  • Experience in cloud (IaaS, PaaS) platform design & architecture (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Experience in application and platform-level threat modeling

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one

  • Knowledge and understanding of architecture frameworks

  • Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentor others throughout the domain

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others

  • A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
