MITRE's Ann Arbor team is currently seeking a Senior/Lead Cyber Security Engineer. This position is an exciting opportunity to provide support and help to resolve technical challenges related to cyber security vulnerabilities within vehicle network architectures of ground combat vehicles such as Stryker, Abrams, and Bradley. The position will require a sophisticated understanding of computer security and computer architectures, as well as managerial experience leading teams, managing schedules and being comfortable in high pressure atmospheres. The role involves daily interaction with the Army team and senior decision makers at the tank plant in Warren, MI. The candidate is expected to have considerable customer interaction, so good verbal skills are a must. Having the ability to identify areas of critical customer challenges, where MITRE subject matter expertise can be applied and contribute to research and development to solve the customer’s highest priority challenges is a plus.

Required:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, physics, or related

  • 3+ years experience as a cyber engineer with familiarity with cybersecurity principles, concepts and technologies

  • Ability to work and lead by example in a fast-paced operational environment

  • Experience in conducting systems analysis and evaluations

  • Possess good business development inclinations and strong problem-solving skills

  • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to work independently when required and integrate seamlessly into technical teams

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Desired:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline

  • 10 years experience as a cyber engineer

  • Ability to identify task work and required supporting reach-back skills to ensure technical rigor is applied and products provide expected value to the sponsor.

  • Candidate with an active DoD secret clearance.
